Beau McGraw

Beau McGraw, a character in the Laws of Attraction series, is one of your professional rivals. He is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 1.

Appearance

Beau has short blond hair, blue eyes and fair skin. He wears a blue suit with a purple shirt and a purple stripped tie. He also appears to be athletic as he had talked to Ryan about leg day variations, and mentioned to you and your coworkers about winning the one-L intramural ultimate frisbee championship.

Personality

Beau is sociable, proudly admitting that he was voted most popular guy at boarding school and in undergraduate university. He is determined to prove his worth as an attorney and not rest on the laurels of his family name.

Background

Beau comes from an affluent background, one where his parents had the means to set up trust funds for him. Although he is older and wiser now, he admits that he was more gullible and impressionable when he was younger. He can relate to Lydia Rothswell, knowing that there are a lot of people ready to take advantage of lonely rich kids.

Relationships

Sadie McGraw

Beau is Sadie McGraw's nephew. At the beginning of the competition, she tells him and the rest of the associates that she will not be playing favorites in choosing the firm's next partner. In Chapter 5, when she praises him, he looks a little teary-eyed.

Your Character

Even though you meet him in Chapter 1 when you meet all the other associates, you do not have the chance to work with him until Chapter 3. Starting then, you can work to improve or worsen your relationship with him. Regardless of your relationship, he steals the credit when you figure out how to solve the Rothswell case, and he reminds you that you're still in a competition.

In Chapter 8, when the firm goes to network at a gala, you can choose to be Beau's wingman/wingwoman and elevate him in front of his law school nemesis, Chet Montague. You can also help him in Chapter 10 when he runs across his childhood love, Nadia, when the firm is at his aunt's hamlet. Both instances he is appreciative and apologizes for his previous actions.

When you visit the set of Varsity Murders with Beau, one of you has the option to cameo in the show. If you tell the director to go with Beau, he is grateful. You can help him decide what to do in his role as a substitute teacher who is the subject of Brooke's frame-up masterpiece.

In Chapter 16, depending on your relationship with him, he will make a stand against his aunt Sadie after you expose her professional misconduct and cooperation with Koenig in front of the partners. Later, he asks you if you can one day be friends and you can either answer that you already are or that it will take some time.

Chet Montague

Chet is Beau's former classmate from law school. Beau dislikes Chet for stealing a law review article out from under him while they were both in their second year.

The name Beauregard is one for boys of French origin and means "beautiful gaze". It comes from a French surname that means "beautiful outlook".
In Book 1, Chapter 10, Beau reveals that he is a "leap day baby", making his birthday fall on February 29. Because of this, he claims he is "8", making his birth year fall on 1988. His age is 33 because Chapter 7 falls after October 23, 2021 (per Lydia's certificate of marriage).
In Book 1, Chapter 12's premium scene, he reveals he has a license to officiate weddings in at least two states.
In Book 1, Chapter 14, Beau states "he who seeks revenge should remember to dig two graves" when discussing Aliana Velazquez. This quote is a proverb commonly attributed to Chinese scholar Confucius.
