- — Baroness Isador[1]
Baroness Isador, a character from the Blades of Light and Shadow series, is a Baroness, and a member of the Shadow Court. She is first seen in Book 2, Chapter 6.
Appearance
Isador has long wavy white hair, pointy ears and claws, gray skin with black veins covering her face and body, and gray and black eyes. She wears a golden spiked crown, and a dark purple and black floral dress.
Personality
Baroness Isador is a social-climbing power-hungry noble, and was like that long before she joined the Shadow Court. She was never as flashy as Xenia or Vostrasz, but she always had everyone's respect.
Background
Baroness Isador took over as the de facto leader of the Shadow Court after the Dreadlord's death. If you ask her why she joined the Dreadlord, she says that she was looking for power. At first they were the Society for Unorthodox Magic, and while their motives varied, they all sought to uncover knowledge that the Elven Empire wanted to hide. Isador was the most passionate of them all, and pushed the rest to dig deeper and find more.

Relationships
Your Character
You and your group encounter Baroness Isador and Lady Nyra in Book 2, Chapter 6, and the two of you fight, until Aerin stops both of you and suggests working together. When Willow says that they want to bring seeds back to the Light Realm, Isador and Nyra suggest using magic to age the trees, in exchange for safe passage to the Light Realm. Aerin then suggests trying to talk to them and to earn their respect, and if you do, you gain them as allies with the potential of aiding you later. Isador also says that you're not what she imagined, as she pegged you for a crusader.
Duchess Xenia
She and Xenia made quite the pair, until the latter ran off to the Light Realm to play Daywalker.
Duke Erthax
She and Duke Erthax worked well together, but Isador found his lack of personality a bit annoying.
