Confirmed Theories
- Romance story: With the recent surge in romance and parenthood stories as of late, it was possible that another one was coming and it was later confirmed to be a romance story in its announcement.
- Gender-Locked: With the recent surge in gender-locked stories as of late, it's possible that this book will be gender-locked as well. This was hinted at originally in a blogpost (when the book was unannounced), and later confirmed with the book's announcement (However, the book was announced as a story about a pregnant protagonist, so the protagonist being female was obvious from the beginning).
- How MC gets pregnant: Fans are wondering what will be the way that the MC has gotten pregnant due to the premise of the book. Possibilities include one night stand, a previous marriage, and artificial insemination. It was later confirmed that the MC got pregnant due to a one night stand in the official book trailer.
- The book will have 16 chapters: Due to the Baby Blanket having sixteen patches, combined with the information for the reader in which chapters those patches will become available, it is believed that this book will have sixteen chapters. It is confirmed at the end of Chapter 15 that the following chapter will be the last.
- Elijah and Luisa: After their interactions in Chapter 3 where Luisa acts nervously around him and he becomes sad by her words, players started theorizing that there may be an option to matchmake them. This is confirmed in Book 1, Chapter 15, when there's a premium option to matchmake three couples, including Elijah and Luisa.
- Gender of twins: Players believe that the MC's twin babies will consist of a boy and a girl because a pre-release teaser shows a pink bootie and a blue bootie. This is confirmed in the gender reveal party in Book 2, Chapter 1.
- Craig: It is believed that he will be the big bad of Book 2 because the bonus scene from Book 1 shows him running for mayor against Mayor Dixon. This is confirmed, as he not only ousts Dixon from office, but also tries to ruin the MC's life every step of the way. In Chapter 19, it is revealed he rigged the election to become the mayor.
- LI will propose: Since the MC and the LI discuss proposing at your sister's wedding and the LI stating that they're not proposing yet, it is believed the LI will propose later in the book. This is confirmed in Book 2, Chapter 13.
- Rigged election: It is believed Craig and his dad (and possibly Mr. Covington's dad) rigged the election in order to help Craig win. This is strengthened with the release of the summary for Book 2, Chapter 20, which says you have "one last shot to find the evidence you need", possibly referring to the evidence proving Craig's election fraud. This is confirmed in Chapter 19, when you overhear an argument between Craig and his dad, where it is revealed he rigged the election.
- Series will end at Book 2: Players believe the series will end at Book 2 because its cover shows the MC and Mr. Covington cuddling with their twin babies. This brings them to the assumption that the babies will be born at the end of the book, and there won't be any story left to tell as a result. Also, the bonus scene from Book 1, which is a teaser for Book 2, shows the MC in labor, and the ending says "Deliver them in Baby Bump 2!". This is strengthened when the babies are born in Chapter 14 and the bonus scene only shows the MC breastfeeding the babies. This gains even more traction when the book is revealed to have at least 23 chapters, which players attribute to the writers wanting to get the series over and done with due to the poor reception the series received, similar to Witness: A Bodyguard Romance. On May 24, 2021, PB confirmed that Book 2 is indeed the last book, and that it wil end with 23 chapters.
Debunked Theories
- What happened to the baby's father: Due to the premise of the book discussing how the MC will look for love, some wonder if the father is either dead, abandoned MC, or even a surrogate. All of these are debunked as Mr. Covington is a one-night stand who hasn't died nor abandoned MC.
- Standalone: It is believed that this is a standalone book, especially after the tutorial when adopting the bunny which states that it will accompany you for the rest of your adventures in this book. This was debunked in the first book's finale on March 16, 2020, when it was revealed it will have a sequel.
- Book 2's release date: Given that the latest books are released at the end of the month, it is believed Book 2 will be released at the end of November. This is debunked when Pixelberry announced that it will be released on November 20, which is in the middle of the month rather than the end.
- Cassandra: It is believed she will be the big bad of this series, since she competes with the MC for Mr. Covington's affection. This is debunked at the beginning of Book 2, when Cassandra sides with the MC and Mayor Dixon against Craig, and she develops feelings for Gavin Covington instead.
- The Covington family: Some players theorize that the rest of the Covingtons will be antagonists, as they will try to force Mr. Covington to marry Cassandra and demand custody of the twins. In Chapter 2, Mr. Covington's father Jebediah doesn't recognize the MC as family and tries to force her out of Gracetown. He also kicks Mr. Covington out of the family home after the latter sides with the MC. This is debunked in Chapter 13, when Jebediah finally apologizes to the MC for his earlier treatment of her.
- Length of Book 2: It is believed that, like Book 1, the number of baby blanket patches is a hint on the length of the book. In this case, it will have 14 chapters. At the end of Chapter 14, it is revealed there are more chapters to come.
