Astrid Thorne, a character in the Crimes of Passion series, is a Princess of Drakovia, and one of Trystan's sisters. She is first seen in Book 2, Chapter 3, although she can be mentioned for the first time in Book 2, Chapter 2.

Appearance

Astrid has long wavy brown hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin. She wears a big white hat, brown sunglasses, a white top, and a golden necklace.

Personality

Astrid believes that love is crazy. According to Olivia, Astrid is brighter than she appears, and she's a master manipulator. She also notes that it'd be wise to count her as a suspect to Nadja's or Juliana's death. According to her dossier, she has no known alliances within her family, as she seems equally unpopular with all siblings. She doesn't like to do favors for her family because she believes they have nothing she would want in return.

Background

Astrid is a serial monogamist who tends to leave a trail of dead lovers in her wake. According to herself, she has been in love before and have gotten really mad, and she describes of an instance where she woke up in Prague covered in blood, and being screamed at in Czech by some old lady. According to her dossier, her occupation is professional muse, and she has a fixture of Drakovian gossip pages thanks to her whirlwind, high profile romances. She's also a suspect in the murder of Baek Eunji's ex-boyfriend, Cho Donghyun, but was never charged, and his murder remains unsolved. However, as she reveals in Book 2, Chapter 14, Astrid is indeed the one who killed him. Astrid has no known accomplishments on her own merit, but there is a recorded phenomenon of her exes winning awards after dating her, and there are whole social media accounts devoted to this conspiracy. There is even some evidence that partners seek Astrid out for her golden touch.

  • The name Astrid is of Scandinavian origin and means: Divinely beautiful, godly strength, princess, star.
  • She and her family share the same surname as Garrett Thorne from Open Heart: Second Year and the default surname of Attorney as well as Reese from Surrender.
  • In Book 2, Chapter 7, it is mentioned by Olivia Nevrakis that she is a master manipulator and has ties to the local mafia.
  • Her crimes include affiliation with organized crime and murder.
  • She is suspected in the murder of one of her partners' ex-boyfriend, but was never charged.
    • Later dialogue has her admit that she did indeed murder her partner's ex-boyfriend, who had proven to be homophobic once his ex started dating Astrid and endlessly harassed her to the point of tears.
