- — Angel explaining her personality[1]
Angel, a character in the Wake the Dead book, is a vagrant and one of your love interests. Although she is first seen in Chapter 3, her name isn't revealed until Chapter 4.
Appearance
Angel has turquoise and black medium-length wavy hair, brown eyes with purple eyeshadow, and light skin. She wears a black choker with a key hanging from it, a black ripped shirt with grey and red designs, and a red bandana on her right arm. She also wears a black pad on her left elbow, fingerless black and red gloves, and several bracelets on her left hand. Finally, she has a couple of scars on her abdomen, and she wears black leggings, an orange ripped jean with a black belt, and she has a turquoise bag with pockets and a bunny design attached to her waist. She states that she has a gangly scarecrow body.
Personality
Angel is wary around strangers, but once she recognizes them to be friendly, she will immediately open up to them. A self-taught engineering genius after surviving in the Black Bear Mall for years, she is very resourceful with her surroundings and is an expert trap-maker, as she once built a cage trap with cardboard boxes and duct tape. Angel is also a master of improvised weapons, with explosives being her personal favorite as they greatly excite her. Because of her isolation, others can grow uncomfortable around her and consider Angel to be weird.
Background
When Angel was a child, Angel's parents kept books on folklore and fables and passed the stories on to Angel as well, wanting her to stay connected to their Japanese heritage. They also kept an oni mask and other things Angel's grandparents had brought with them from Japan in their house.
Angel was a child when the outbreak hit. She and her parents partnered up with a group with a car to stay on the move. Once the car ran out of gas, the group chose to stay at the Black Bear Mall. Unbeknownst to them, zombies had already infested the mall and picked them off one by one. After losing her parents to the drones, Angel went into hiding and remained at the mall for years.
Survivors would frequently arrive at the mall in search of food and/or supplies. While Angel constantly agrees to assist them, she keeps track of how long each group would last before being killed. At one point, a survivor named Chad attacked her with a knife, attempting to steal her belongings. In retaliation, Angel sprayed him in the face with WD-40, presumably blinding him. Sometime afterwards, Chad was devoured by zombies. Angel would later call Chad and his group to be "dumber dead than they were alive".

Parents
When you meet Angel, she introduces you to her parents which have already turned into zombies and asks you to bring them along. If you decide to not bring them along, you tell her that they are long gone and that they have to be killed and Angel will reluctantly give in.
In a premium scene of Chapter 18, you can ask her to tell you more about what her parents were like before they turned. She tells you that she and her parents have always been very close: since Angel doesn't have siblings, it was always the three of them. She describes her mother as funny, playing pranks on Angel's father who was creative and obsessed with books.

Trivia
- In a premium scene of Chapter 18, she reveals that she made the mask she was wearing when you first met herself and that it's an oni mask. The oni[2] from Japanese folklore have always been her favourites and she points out that they have some similarities with the zombie Soldiers, "just... cooler looking."
