Relationships

Your Character

Amy is the first friend you make when you and your mom move to Willow Creek shortly before your senior year in high school. You two become SAT preparation partners, and you share homeroom with her. She tells you a little about Dakota Winchester. She warns you to be careful around Dakota because she has never seen Dakota with a boyfriend or girlfriend but not from lack of admirers. She guesses Dakota is just flirty and not wanting a serious relationship and she doesn't want you to get your heart broken. Amy is your closest friend outside of Dakota and his/her friends and you confide in her when you need to.

In Chapter 6 when you are grounded, you don't tell her until afterwards. At first, she thinks you've brushed her off because you were spending time with Dakota, but you can tell her that you were embarrassed. She has never been grounded so she doesn't know your pain. In Chapter 7, she is worried that she messed up on her essay about the impact of the Great Depression in APUSH (Advanced Placement United States History) to which you reassure her that she still got the best grade in the class.

In Chapter 9, after she returns from her winter break trip, you rush over to her and hug her, telling her what happened with Dakota. If you decide to catch up with her in the premium scene, you can also encourage her relationship with Heather.

In Chapter 12, when Dakota reveals his/her past relationship with Amy, you can choose to forgive her or be angry. She is worried that she lost you as her best friend, but you both move past it and she suggests tracking down Nolan Grant for Dakota to raise his/her spirits.

In Chapter 15, you can encourage Amy and Heather to get together for the last time, this time being where they officially are an item. Amy thanks you for helping her get the courage to admit her true feelings.

In Chapter 16, Amy gives you the option to have a speech about Dakota during what should be her valedictorian speech.

Heather

When you are first introduced to Heather, you notice looks passed between her and Amy. In Chapter 3, you can try to convince Amy to attend the Fall Carnival so she and Heather can spend time together. If you chose not to, Amy goes home to study. After all, she can't put the Fall Carnival down on her college applications. In Chapter 16, they can finally get with your encouragement.

Dakota Winchester

Even though they appear to be casual acquaintances or friends, it isn't until Chapter 12 that Dakota reveals to you that he/she and Amy had a crush on each other during freshman year. Amy was Dakota's first kiss, but right after, Dakota blurted out that he/she had had leukemia and Amy flipped out. They weren't in love but in hindsight, they were both young and overdramatic. Amy broke Dakota's trust, and they didn't talk until senior year through you.
