Relationships

Your Character

In Chapter 3, Madeleine mentions that Queen Amalas is also in attendance at the palace but doesn't tell you which country she is representing. In Chapter 4, you meet her for the first time during the ball you throw when she visits your duchy. You can impress her, depending on your choices. She mentions having a child from before her husband passed, and a possible alliance against Auvernal, who appears to bully her country as well. She offers you a female corgi to adopt.

In Chapter 7, she approaches you at Savannah's bachelorette party in Texas. She has the bartender slide you a Sazerac, her favorite drink. If you ask her to extend the same courtesy of getting to know her, she tells you that she doesn't have any friends. She is good to her servants though, demonstrating by giving her server a $1000 tip. In Chapter 16, she appears at your baby shower, expecting your answer about a possible alliance. In Chapter 18, she reveals to you and your friends that Leona was the one responsible behind the paparazzi knowing your locations.

In Book 2, Chapter 5, she attends The Heir's annointment ceremony but tells you that it was only out of courtesy. She says she can't agree to anything with a country that is in league with Auvernal and that she can no longer trust you. In Chapter 8, when a "Monterisso" drone attacks Isabella, everyone accuses Amalas for it. Even if you do not, Cordonia is forced to banish her as fear of more attacks plague the Royal Council. After you discover that Bradshaw and Isabella were behind the attack, you and your spouse go to Monterisso in Chapter 17 to apologize and ask for her help. She agrees and uses her expertise to crack the encrypted files you stole from Bradshaw's computer.

In The Royal Finale, Chapter 3, she accuses you of being part of the Via Imperii when you return from Vallenheim. When you convince her you are not, she decides to team up with you and your friends to take them down.

Bradshaw and Isabella

Bradshaw & Isabella start as Amalas's rivals to become Cordonia's allies. Even though Bradshaw and Isabella drive a wedge between Amalas and Cordonia by gaining the treaty and marriage contract between one of their twins and the heir, they frame Amalas in Book 2 Chapter 8 by having a "Monterisso" drone attack Isabella. They also use the drone attack to further strengthen their military presence inside Cordonia.

In Chapter 16, you, Hana, and Olivia find notes about Monterisso in Bradshaw's office. Apparently, the 'Falcon has gone to nest in Cianna' and its orders are to 'shake the trunk and see which branches bend first.' In Chapter 17, when you and your spouse offer her the flash drive of Bradshaw's files and ask for her aid, she forgives you for blaming her and is happy to help.

Olivia Nevrakis

In Book 2, Chapter 19, after Amalas has cracked the encryption on Bradshaw's files, she finds herself in danger of being apprehended by Auvernese security. You have the option to send Olivia to her location to help her. If you do, the two learn to respect each other for their skills. Olivia respects Amalas's technology and hacker skills, while Amalas respect's Olivia's martial arts skills and ability to lie and react under pressure.

In The Royal Finale, Chapter 17, you have the option to have Olivia talk to Amalas and possibly start a romance. If you do, Olivia reacts surprised, because she believes that Amalas isn't interested in her. After some convincing from you, she walks away to talk to 'someone'. Later, she asks Amalas to dance with her.

King Eirik

In The Royal Finale, Chapter 3, Amalas tells you that she was able to squash dissent in Monterisso's nobility and discovered that Eirik's frequent visits to her country were to discover how much information she had on the Via Imperii. She was only able to uncover several low level Via Imperii operatives, and took her findings to Interpol.

Trystan Thorne

More than eight years prior to the events of Crimes of Passion, Book 1, Amalas attended a Drakovian ball, wearing the Crown Jewels of Monterisso. Trystan Thorne's brother, Kaspar, stole them and Amalas enlisted Trystan's help to recover them. When the jewels are stolen again - this time by Roger Dupont - Amalas asks Trystan for help and the latter recommends the Ginovesi Private Detective Agency.
