Main Character

According to Curtis, she left him and Alisha deal with the fallout after her breakup with Kam. After she graduated college, Alisha and Curtis helped Main Character build her five-year-plan, by asking her to imagine what kind of life she wanted to have in five years. Normally she is all about respect with her parents and tries not to disobey them, but she doesn’t hesitate to call them out if they do something bad. One of the reasons Main Character decided to go to a trip in the Bahamas with the rest of her girls, was to feel like her own person and not an extension of Alisha and Curtis.

Maia Thompson

When Maia was a child, Alisha used to pack snacks for her whenever she was going to play at the park with Juanita. After Juanita dropped out of college, this inspired Maia to do the same, and she started googling ways to get her parents to fill out the paperwork needed. When Main Character, Maia, Juanita and Dee were children, they liked dancing in front of the TV, and when Alisha caught them, she nearly killed them.

Deirdre Jackson

Alisha and Dee’s mother go way back, and that’s how Dee and the rest of the girls became friends. According to Main Character, Alisha was very excited to meet Deirdre’s mom, and because of that, Main Character thought that they’d meet someone famous. However, she soon realized that she was joking, and as soon as they met in the park, Alisha told them to go play while the adults talk.
