@Circy This is why High School Story, Book 2 is my least favorite book in that series, because of all the emotional torture they put me through in that book. I can handle characters in physical danger way easier than emotional distress caused by a group being at odds with each other and the more I like the characters, the less I like seeing them at odds with each other (which is why it's HSS2, not CA2 which does the same thing, but with characters I like, but not as much as the characters from the HSS app). On the other hand, the lighthearted parts of HSS2 are pretty good.
It's also why Isa, a character who put some of my favorite characters at odds with each other, is a villain I hate and probably my least favorite villain in Choices (unless we count characters who I consider villains who technically aren't) while Azura, who straight up murdered a character I like, but in doing so strengthened the bond between allies, is someone I "love to hate" and is my favorite villain in Choices.
I'm way more into action/adventure stories than anything negatively emotional. It doesn't make the victory sweeter to see them over come it. It just makes me mad at the writers and want to avoid those parts of the story (or the story overall if I don't like the characters enough).
